Call Me Ann: The Ann Richards Rock Opera
Call Me Ann celebrates one of the most singular figures in American political history, from her unlikely rise from small-town housewife to governor of Texas, and explores the global ripple effect of her loss to George W. Bush in the 1994 gubernatorial race. Famous political figures weave through the story, including Governor Mark White, President George W. Bush, Molly Ivins, and Karl Rove, all performed by an all-female cast of Houston theater favorites.
Directed by Megan Weaver. Original music and lyrics by Jake Goldstein with additional music and lyrics by Alli Partin Villines, Jeff Villines, Sam Cannariato, and Megan Weaver. Houston Fringe Festival at MATCH, November 2019.
